Flea, Tick and Worming Control

We stock a comprehensive range of the latest flea, tick and worming products to ensure your pet is protected against both external and internal parasites.

A flea burden is a common problem seen in many households that can be difficult to eradicate. To get rid of a flea burden, it is important to treat the affected pet, other pets in the household, and the environment in which the pets live. This involves regular flea treatment with one of our recommended veterinary-grade products; Bravecto, Simparica, Advantage or Advocate and environmental treatment with vacuuming and flea bombs. For a full range of antiparasitic treatments, please speak to one of our staff members.

Ticks are another type of external parasite that commonly cause problems for pets. Certain species of ticks can transmit infectious diseases as well as cause tick paralysis, a life threatening condition. The best defence against tick paralysis is to prevent tick bites by using regular tick treatment and to perform regular tick searches on your pet, especially in the summer months.

Intestinal worms such as Hookworm, Tapeworm, Whipworm and Roundworm cause gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting and diarrhoea in many patients, often leading to severe blood loss or dehydration. Some intestinal parasites cause disease in humans, so it is important your pet is kept up to date with worming treatment. Heartworm disease can be easily prevented by an injection for adult dogs and puppies. Heartworm larvae are transmitted by mosquitoes, causing serious disease.
