Vaccination and Microchipping

Our veterinarians utilise the latest vaccine technology to provide optimal protection against viral and bacterial disease in your pet dogs, cats and rabbits. A thorough physical examination and health assessment is performed as part of our vaccination service.

Vaccinations are essential to protect your pet from serious diseases. We recommend regular vaccinations for your pet. A thorough physical examination and health assessment is performed as part of our vaccination service. Regular vaccinations also allow you to admit your dog into boarding, with most boarding establishments requiring regular vaccinations prior to admission.

Our comprehensive canine vaccination protocol provides protection against Canine Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza Virus, Bordatella bronchiseptica (Kennel cough) and Leptospirosis.

Our feline vaccination protocol provides protection against Feline Herpesvirus, Calicivirus and Feline Parvovirus (Feline Panleucopaenia). We also offer additional Feline Leukaemia Virus, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and Chlamydia vaccinations, please ask our veterinarians for more information.

Rabbits can now be vaccinated with a new vaccine Filavac®️ against rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) strain 1 and 2 ( also known as Calicivirus) This is a once yearly vaccine. A single vaccination from 10 weeks of age provides immunity 7 days later and lasts 12 months.

Microchipping is a simple procedure that allows for rapid and easy identification of your pet should they be lost or stolen. It is a local council requirement for new puppies and kittens to be microchipped and registered by 6 months of age. Please ask about our vaccination and microchipping packages if you have a litter of puppies or kittens. We also have tiny microchips for small pets, birds and reptiles.

We practice fear free principles in our hospitals. We use techniques such as gentle, calm voice and movements, minimal table time, using a grippy surface or a soft blanket and distraction with treats. We also dispense anti anxiety medication to give your pet before their arrival, to reduce the fear response and allow a gentler visit for pet and owner.

Please talk to us when booking your appointment to let us know if your pet is fearful at the vets.
