Our Veterinarians

Dr. Hamish Jarratt
He went on to teach physiology to undergraduate students at the University for 2 years before completing his veterinary degree at Massey University in 2002. His first job was working in the Illawarra at the Albion Park and Gerringong Veterinary Hospitals. He spent the next 4 years in the United Kingdom working at a number of companion and mixed animal practices.
In 2008, Hamish decided to settle in the Illawarra and has been providing excellence in pet care and production animal health at the Albion Park and Gerringong Veterinary Hospitals ever since.Hamish’s other interests include rugby (watching only now!), fishing, diving and travel.

Dr. Cindy Jarratt
Cindy understands the bond between animals and their human companions, and is passionate about delivering the highest quality health care for all the species she treats.
Cindy has always had a special interest in birds and unusual pets. Since graduating from the University of Sydney in 2001, she has worked in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. In 2008, Cindy spent six months in the pathology department at the University of Sydney before becoming a veterinary registrar at the Avian, Reptile and Exotic Pet Hospital in Camden.
After 3 years concentrating on birds and unusual pets, Cindy returned to work in the Illawarra in 2011. Cindy obtained her membership to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (Avian Chapter) in 2012, and attends annual veterinary conferences to keep up to date with new advances in this ever changing field. Cindy is also passionate about helping our Australian native wildlife.
When not at work, Cindy is kept busy caring for her 2 children, and her fur baby Max, the staffy cross. She loves yoga, scuba diving and getting out in nature.

Dr. Adam McCosker
Adam graduated from the University of Sydney in 2012. Although he is an Illawarra local, he went on to work in multiple practices around the world including New Zealand and the UK. We are very lucky to have him back in the Illawarra.
Adam has an interest in all aspects of mixed practice and is particularly keen on surgery, farm animal health & production and diagnostic imaging.
When he isn’t at work, Adam enjoys surfing, being a dad, climbing and many outdoor pursuits. He also thoroughly enjoys music, playing the banjo and reading. He shares his home with two furry companions including a cat named Cleo, and Wednesday the wispy Whippet.

Dr. Andrejs Medenis
Andrejs has two fur babies, Baz and Ziggy, and when he is not at work, you will find Andrejs scheming his next big trip around Australia or overseas. He is also an active member in several musical troupes, and enjoys crime fiction and movies in his spare time.
